MICHALIS P. MICHAEL
Chairman, Invest Cyprus
Michalis P. Michael is the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Cyprus Investment Promotion Agency since January 2018. He has a long professional career in business and audit services, both as a sole practitioner and as a Partner at KPMG Cyprus. Michalis has vast experience in the Ukrainian market and he is the Chairman of the Cyprus-Ukraine Business Association from 2012 until today. Michalis has been actively involved with public life since his early career. Formerly, he served as a Member of the Board of Directors of the Cyprus Broadcasting Corporation (1996-2000), Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Cyprus Organisation of Land Development (2000-2003), Member of the Committee for the Supervision and Development of Cooperative Societies (2003-2013). He was also Member of the Board of Directors of The Cyprus University of Technology (2014-2016), where he currently holds the position of Vice-President (July 2016-today). Michalis is a Chartered Certified Accountant, a Fellow member of the UK Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (FCCA) and Member of the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Cyprus, of which he also served as a Member of the Board of Directors.
Director General, Invest Cyprus
George Campanellas is the Director General of Invest Cyprus since May 2018 and the Vice President of the Cyprus Investment Funds Association (CIFA). He has more than sixteen years of professional experience in Cyprus and abroad, working with the DG Competition in Brussels and directly with the Cypriot Ministers of Health and Energy, Commerce, Industry & Tourism. For a number of years, George has been actively involved with the development of the hydrocarbons sector in Cyprus’ EEZ, dealing with licensing, exploration and exploitation activities, as well as promoting bilateral and multilateral cooperation at a regional level. He has also been actively involved with drafting the regulatory framework and running the relevant licensing procedures for attracting FDI in sectors of strategic importance and large-scale infrastructure projects, such as the LNG terminal at Vasilikos Energy Centre, Cyprus Techno Park, EuroAsia Interconnector and the City of Dreams Mediterranean, Europe’s largest integrated casino resort and Cyprus’ largest FDI project.
Melina Pyrgou, Advocate, Board Member, Invest Cyprus
Melina Pyrgou is the Managing Director of Pyrgou Vakis Law Firm. She is also currently appointed as a Board Member of the “Health Insurance Organisation” as the representative of the Cyprus Government, Member of “The Cyprus Legal Council” chaired by the Attorney General of the Republic of Cyprus, Board member of the Cyprus Investment Promotion Agency, Member of the Disciplinary Committee of the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Cyprus, Appointed Member of the Board of BPW Nicosia. Melina was also listed in “Legal 500” EMEA 2016+2017 as “Recommended Lawyer” in the areas of Commercial, Corporate and M&A and served as President of EuropeFides Association for 2016. She acted as country expert for projects of the European Commission in the field of the environment and others. She also Participated in panel discussions, conferences and invited to take part of ministerial committee for the reform of the Registrar of Companies. Presented a paper on “Prosecuting Environmental Law offenders in Cyprus” in December 2016 upon invitation by the University of Cyprus.
Harris Georgiades, Minister of Finance, Republic of Cyprus
Harris Georgiades was born in 1972 in Nicosia. He was appointed as Minister of Finance of the Republic of Cyprus on April 3, 2013 and was reappointed on March 1, 2018. He had the leading role in the implementation and successful conclusion of the reform and consolidation program for the Cyprus economy after the financial crisis of 2012-2013. He participates at Eurogroup meetings as well as those of ECOFIN. He was elected Chairman of the Board of Governors of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development for the period 2014-2015 and is a member of the Board of Governors of the International Monetary Fund, the European Investment Bank and the European Stability Mechanism. He was selected by POLITICO as one of the 28 most-influential Europeans for 2016. He is a member of the Young Leaders for Europe community of the World Economic Forum. Prior to his appointment as Minister he was a Member of the House of Representatives with the Democratic Rally Party (2011-2013). He also served as Press Spokesman and as member of the Executive of the Democratic Rally. In parallel, he managed a family-owned hotel business (1999-2013). He studied International Relations and Economics (BA, MA, 1992-96) at the University of Reading, UK, and was a post-graduate researcher at the Institute of European and International Studies, University of Reading (1996-98).
Louis Pochanis, Director International Banking, Wealth & Markets, Bank of Cyprus
Louis holds the position of Director International Banking, Wealth & Markets since April 2016, being in charge of the International Banking and the Wealth & Markets Divisions as well as the Shipping Centre. Prior to that, Louis was Director International Banking Services since 2013. Before being appointed to this role, Louis held the position of General Manager of the Cyprus Investment and Securities Corporation Ltd (CISCO) and prior to that he served as Manager Private Banking and Wealth Management, setting up the Divisions in Cyprus in 1995 and in Greece in 1996. Previous to the Bank of Cyprus, Louis worked at Price Waterhouse in London between 1989 and 1992, where he qualified as a Chartered Accountant and became a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW). Louis also holds a Batchelor degree with first class honors in Economics with Accountancy from Loughborough University, UK. He is currently the Chairman of the Board of Directors of CISCO and BOC Asset Management Ltd and a member of the Board of Directors of Eurolife. He is also Chairman of the Bank's Credit Committee 2.
Phivos Stasopoulos, General Manager, Business Division, Hellenic Bank, Cyprus Phivos
Stasopoulos was born in 1967 in Cyprus. He has extensive experience in the accounting and banking industries. After graduating from the University of Manchester with a B.A. in Accounting, Finance and Econometrics, he joined KPMG in the UK, where he qualified as a Chartered Accountant. He returned to Cyprus to join Bank of Cyprus as Head of Debt Recovery. After serving in various posts, he became General Manager as Head of Corporate Banking. He left the Bank at the end of 2013 and for a period of almost 2 years he has been advising reputable clients operating in various sectors of the economy. He is a Fellow member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW). He joined Hellenic Bank in April 2016 where he holds the position of Group General Manager Business Division and is responsible for the Bank’s Corporate and SME portfolio
Christophoros Anayiotos, Board Member, KPMG Limited, Cyprus
Christophoros is the Head Deal Advisory of KPMG in Cyprus. He holds a BSc (Economics) from the London School Economics and is a Fellow member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (1999). He also holds the CFq, from the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (2006). Christophoros has been with KPMG since 1996 and leading the Financial Advisory Services (now Deal Advisory) since 2000. With more than 18 years of experience in Advisory he has been involved in engagements in various sectors relating to valuations, restructuring, financing assistance, M&As, due diligence and privatisations.
Theo Parperis, Partner, Head of Tax & Legal Services, PwC Cyprus
Theo Parperis was the Partner in Charge of Compliance Services Competence and Private Wealth Services (PwS) of the firm until 30 June 2015. As of 1st July 2015, Theo has taken over as Head of Tax & Legal Services of PwC in Cyprus. He is primarily engaged with international clients operating in a broad range of sectors, including trade in oil and commodities (e.g. metals), transportation, shipping, tourism, manufacturing, information and technology. His clientele comprises primarily of international businesses with activities in Russia, Ukraine, Asia, M.E. and Central Eastern Europe as well as a number of HNWIs (High Net Worth Individuals). Theo graduated from the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) and is a Fellow member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW). Theo has also served as president of the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Cyprus (ICPAC) from June 2011 to June 2013.
Shipping Deputy Minster to the President, Republic of Cyprus
Natasa Pilides is the Deputy Minister of Shipping reporting directly to the President of the Republic since March 1, 2018. Previously, she served since April 2016 as the Director General of the Cyprus Investment Promotion Agency (CIPA), responsible for the design and implementation of the organisation’s strategy in investment promotion, investor support and facilitation of reform in close collaboration with the Cyprus government. Natasa's work experience includes more than fifteen years in the private sector. She served as a Director and Regional Chief Operating Officer at Baker Tilly in South East Europe, heading the departments of Finance, Marketing, HR, Administration, Operations and IT for Cyprus, Greece, Romania, Bulgaria and Moldova. For nine years she worked at PwC, in Cyprus, Milan and London in the areas of audit and tax consulting, providing services to multinational companies active in the fields of banking and finance, shipping, insurance, energy, construction and FMCG. Natasa has wide experience in delivering professional training and courses for ICAEW, ACCA and CIMA exams in the areas of audit, tax, corporate law, ethics, financial accounting and reporting, at BPP London, one of the leading professional studies organisations worldwide. Natasa graduated from Oxford University with a first-class honours degree with distinction in Modern Languages and Literature (French and Italian). She is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of England and Wales (ICAEW) and a member of the Certified Public Accountants of Cyprus (ICPAC). Natasa is fluent in Greek, English, French and Italian. Throughout her career, she represented and promoted Cyprus abroad as an investment destination and has published various articles in international professional publications.
Deputy Minister of Tourism, Republic of Cyprus
Savvas Perdios is the Deputy Minister of Tourism of the Republic of Cyprus as of January 2, 2019. He was born in 1981 in Lefkosia, Cyprus. He studied Accounting and Finance at Warwick University (2002-2004) and International Hospitality Management (BA, 2004-2008) at the École Hôteliere de Lausanne. Mr Perdios considers himself very lucky that he can practice his hobby for a living. His career in hospitality began at the very young age of 15, undertaking various summer jobs in hotel departments like kitchen, maintenance, service, banqueting, housekeeping and guest relations. Between 2008 and 2010 after completing his studies, Mr Perdios worked for internationally known companies like Design Hotels in Mykonos and Kempinski Hotels in Switzerland. From January 2010 until January 2018 he worked at Louis Hotels from the position of Quality and Brand Manager. This entailed being in charge of creating, implementing and maintaining operating standards across the whole portfolio (25 hotels and several restaurants), and also being in charge of branding and reputation management. After 8 years in this position. Mr Perdios was promoted to Chief Operation Officer, a position which he held until his appointment at the Cyprus Deputy Ministry of Tourism. He is fluent in Greek, English, French and German.
MARK O'NEIL LLB
President, Columbia Shipmanagement
Mark O'Neil is the President of Columbia Shipmanagement. A maritime lawyer by profession, as a Partner with Stephenson Harwood LLP and Reed Smith LLP for 17 years, Mark headed up international law firm Reed Smith LLP's German Shipping Team, and also co-lead the firm's Offshore Department. His clients included Ship Owners, Charterers, Insurers, Management Companies, Banks, Oil Companies and Offshore Contractors worldwide with a particular focus on the German, Scandinavian, Greek, Dutch, South American and Cypriot markets. He therefore has an in-depth knowledge of the shipping, ship management, banking and offshore sectors. Mark chairs and/or speaks at numerous maritime and banking conferences and seminars worldwide. He is a passionate advocate of performance optimisation within the shipping and ship management industry and regularly speaks on this matter together with the related topic of digitalisation.

Andy Choy is the President of ICR Cyprus Group and the Property President of Altira Macau and Mocha Clubs. As the President of ICR Cyprus, Andy has the overall responsibility of Melco Resorts and the Entertainment’s involvement in Cyprus. Since 2015, he has been involved with the integrated Casino Resort project in Limassol where he initially identified Cyprus as an opportunity for the group’s expansion and supervised the RFP submission. Currently, he oversees the financial performance of the operations. As the Property President of Altira Macau and Mocha Clubs he oversees the combined annual revenues of €900 million. Andy has over 14 years of gaming industry experience where he managed casino operations in the United States and China. He was previously a manufacturing and supply chain expert specializing in corporate restructurings. Andy graduated from the University of California, Berkeley with a degree in Statistics and from Stanford University with a Masters of Business Administration.
Chief Scientist for Research and Innovation, Republic of Cyprus
Kyriacos Kokkinos is the Chief Scientist for Research and Innovation of the Republic of Cyprus, Chairman of the Research & Innovation Foundation (RFI) and also a Member of the Board of Directors of the Cyprus Investment Promotion Agency (CIPA). He is a distinguished professional and a technologist with long service in IBM Europe and PwC, with key focus on Digital Transformation Consulting and Information Technology. He served as IBM Executive Director & Partner, IBM Europe, with 30 years of experience in the Technology Consulting and Services Sector, most recent role being the leader of European Consulting practice in Cognitive Computing – Analytics and Artificial Intelligence (AI). He also serves as a member of the National Board for Research and Innovation and Member of the Board of Trustees of The Cyprus Institute. He is the recipient of numerous awards and recognitions for professional excellence, including the ‘Business Leader of the Year Award 2016’, by the Cyprus Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the ‘Quality Leader Award 2015’ by the Cyprus Quality Association. His Academic qualifications include an Executive MBA in Strategic Management from Henley Management College (UK) and MSc & BSc in Electrical Engineering from New Jersey Institute of Technology (USA).
Andreas Yiasemides, Partner, In charge of Fund Services, PwC Cyprus
Andreas Yiasemides is a Partner at PwC and in charge of the Fund Services of the organisation. On his graduation from the University of Manchester with a first class degree in Economics, he joined PwC in 1999 and qualified as a Chartered Accountant (FCA). He continued his career with the Bank of Cyprus, holding various positions including heading the Custody and Trusts Unit. He then moved on to an organisation of professional services where he set up and led the Fund Services Unit. He has served as a member of the Board of Directors of the Bank of Cyprus and of the Central Bank of Cyprus and is the Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Cyprus Investment Fund Association (CIFA). He is also a member of the Cyprus National Advisory Council of Charter Institute for Securities and Investment (CISI).
Costas Argyrides, CEO, The Cyprus Development Bank Public Company Ltd
Costas Argyrides joined the Cyprus Development Bank Public Company Ltd since 2017, where he holds the position of the CEO. He was previously employed by the Bank of Cyprus, where he held the position of Director, Wealth & Markets. Prior to that, he was the General Manager of the Cyprus Popular Bank UK. Costas holds a master’s degree in Shipping Trade & Finance from Cass Business School and studied Economics at Queen Mary College, University of London. He is a member of the Chartered Institute for Securities & Investments (Chartered MCSI) and a member of the Board of the Cyprus Investment Fund Association.
Emilios Tannousis, Head Institutional Wealth Management, Wealth & Markets, Bank of Cyprus
Emilios Tannousis heads the Institutional Wealth Management business at Bank of Cyprus since 2015. With an experience of almost 20 years in the wealth and asset management industry, he is responsible for Institutional clients’ investments and wealth management portfolios. Previously he has served as Head Asset Management in LFS Ltd and Senior Asset Manager in COOP Central Bank. He started his career as a Financial Analyst and a Foreign Fund Manager in Demetra Investments. Symeon Symeou, Head of International Banking Unit, Astrobank
Symeon Symeou is the Head of International Banking Unit of AstroBank Limited which he joined in 2007. Previously he was with Hellenic Bank for 14 years and among other he held the position of Chief Representative Officer in Moscow, Head of Brokerage Division of Hellenic Bank Investments, and Senior Credit Officer. He holds a master’s degree in Business Administration with concentration in Banking from Hofstra University, USA and a bachelor’s degree in Financial Services from Manchester School of Management and a Bachelors Degree if Hospitality Management from NYIT, USA.
Michalis Vasiliou, Principal, KPMG Limited, Cyprus
Michalis joined KPMG Cyprus in 2007. He became a Principal in 2017. Michalis specializes in the audit of investment funds and is heavily involved in the set-up and advisory of various Cyprus investment funds. He is an assistant head of KPMG Fund’s Management Unit team and has delivered a number of seminars on the fund industry in Cyprus. Moreover, Michalis is a member of the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Cyprus (ICPAC) since 2010 and is currently the Vice President of the ICPAC Alternative Investment Funds Committee.
