Harris Georgiades

Harris Georgiades

Harris Georgiades, Minister of Finance, Republic of Cyprus
Harris Georgiades was born in 1972 in Nicosia. He was appointed as Minister of Finance of the Republic of Cyprus on 3rd April 2013 and was reappointed on 1st March 2018. He had the leading role in the implementation and successful conclusion of the reform and consolidation program for the Cyprus economy after the financial crisis of 2012-2013. He participates in the Eurogroup and the ECOFIN. He was elected Chairman of the Board of Governors of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development for the period 2014-2015 and is a member of the Board of Governors of the International Monetary Fund, the European Investment Bank and the European Stability Mechanism. He was selected by POLITICO as one of the 28 most-influential Europeans for 2016. He is a member of the Young Leaders for Europe community of the World Economic Forum. Prior to his appointment as Minister he was a Member of the House of Representatives with the Democratic Rally Party (2011-2013). He also served as Press Spokesman and as member of the Executive of the Democratic Rally. In parallel, he managed a family-owned hotel business (1999-2013). He studied International Relations and Economics (BA, MA, 1992-96) at the University of Reading, UK and was a post-graduate researcher at the Institute of European and International Studies, University of Reading (1996-98).

Michalis P. Michael

Chairman, Invest Cyprus 

Michalis P. Michael is the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Cyprus Investment Promotion Agency since January 2018. He has a long professional career in business and audit services, both as a sole practitioner and as a Partner in KPMG Cyprus. Michalis has a vast experience in the Ukrainian market and he is the Chairman of the Cyprus-Ukraine Business Association from 2012 until today. Michalis has been actively involved with public life since his early career. Formerly, he served as a Member of the Board of Directors of the Cyprus Broadcasting Corporation (1996-2000), Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Cyprus Organisation of Land Development (2000-2003), Member of the Committee for the Supervision and Development of Cooperative Societies (2003-2013). He was also Member of the Board of Directors of The Cyprus University of Technology (2014-2016), where he currently holds the position of Vice-President (July 2016-today). Michalis, is a Chartered Certified Accountant, a Fellow member of the UK Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (FCCA) and Member of the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Cyprus, of which he served also as a Member of the Board of Directors.

George Campanellas

Director General, Invest Cyprus 

George Campanellas is a graduate of the Department of International and European Studies of the Athens University of Economics and Business with post-graduate studies in Public Sector Management (Master’s in Public Sector Management) and Business Administration (MBA in Oil & Gas and Energy Management). Throughout his 16-year career in the public sector, he gained valuable experience working directly with the Minister of Energy, Commerce, Industry and Tourism and the Minister of Health. George has been actively involved in drafting the regulatory framework and incentives for attracting Foreign Direct Investment in sectors of strategic importance to the economy. Amongst others, George dealt for a number of years with the Cyprus Oil & Gas activities, as well as with the development of nationwide large-scale infrastructure projects, such as the natural gas liquefaction terminal (LNG) and the Cyprus TechnoPark. Appointed by the Ministerial Council, George also served as Project Manager for the City of Dreams Mediterranean Integrated Casino Resort, the country’s largest FDI project and the largest integrated casino resort in Europe. He also served for many years in various governmental committees. Throughout his career, he has been participating as a speaker in a number of conferences in Cyprus and abroad, presenting investment opportunities in different sectors of the Cyprus economy.  Since May 2018, he holds the positions of the Director General of Invest Cyprus and the Vice President of the Cyprus Investment Funds Association.

Shipping Deputy Minster to the President, Republic of Cyprus

Natasa Pilides is the Shipping Deputy Minister to the President, since 1 March 2018.  Previously, she served as the Director General of the Cyprus Investment Promotion Agency since April 2016, responsible for the design and implementation of the Organisation’s strategy in investment promotion, investor support and facilitation of reform, in close collaboration with the Cyprus government. Natasa's work experience includes more than fifteen years in the private sector. She served as a Director and Regional Chief Operating Officer at Baker Tilly in South East Europe, heading the departments of Finance, Marketing, HR, Administration, Operations and IT for Cyprus, Greece, Romania, Bulgaria and Moldova. For 9 years she worked at PwC, in Cyprus, Milan and London in the areas of audit and tax consulting, providing services to multinational companies active in the fields of banking and finance, shipping, insurance, energy, construction and FMCG. Natasa has wide experience in delivering professional training and courses for ICAEW, ACCA and CIMA exams in the areas of audit, tax, corporate law, ethics, financial accounting and reporting, at BPP London, one of the leading professional studies organisations worldwide. Natasa graduated from Oxford University with a first-class honours degree with distinction in Modern Languages and Literature (French and Italian). She is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of England and Wales (ICAEW) and a member of the Certified Public Accountants of Cyprus (ICPAC). Natasa is fluent in Greek, English, French and Italian. She has represented and promoted Cyprus as an investment destination abroad throughout her career and has published various articles in international professional publications.

Savvas Perdios

Deputy Minister of Tourism, Republic of Cyprus
Savvas Perdios is the Deputy Minister of Tourism since January 2019. He was the Chief Operations Officer (COO) of Louis Hotels for 1 year (2018). Before that he was the Quality & Branding Manager of Louis Hotels in Greece and Cyprus for 8 years (2010-2017). He also worked at Il Mondo Cafe Ltd in Nicosia as Part-time Manager and Outlet Supervisor from September 2010 - April 2012. In 2009, he was the Financial Controller at Mirador Kempinski Lake Geneva in Switzerland for 1 year. Savvas Perdios was also the Purchasing, Store and F&B Manager at Mykonos Theoxenia, in Mykonos, Greece, for 3 months, back in 2008. Savvas graduated from the Business School of the University of Warwick (2002-2004). He is also a graduate of the Ecole Hôtelière de Lausanne with a Bachelor’s degree of Science, International Hospitality Management (2004 - 2008).

Chief Scientist for Research and Innovation, Republic of Cyprus

Kyriacos Kokkinos is the Chief Scientist for Research and Innovation of the Republic of Cyprus and a Member of the Board of Directors of the Cyprus Investment Promotion Agency (CIPA). He is a distinguished professional and technologist with long service in IBM Europe and PwC, with key focus on Digital Transformation Consulting and Information Technology.  He served as IBM Executive Director & Partner, IBM Europe, with 30 years of experience in the Technology Consulting and Services Sector, most recent role being the leader of European Consulting practice in Cognitive Computing – Analytics and Artificial Intelligence (AI). In addition to being a CIPA Board Member, he also serves as a member of the National Board for Research and Innovation, Chairman of the Board of Research Promotion Foundation RPF and Member of the Board of Trustees of The Cyprus Institute. He has also served at various other Boards, including the Cyprus Tourism Organization CTO, the Cyprus Ports Authority and Chairman of The Institute of Directors. He is the recipient of numerous awards and recognitions for professional excellence - including the ‘Business Leader of the Year Award’ 2016, by the Cyprus Chamber of Commerce and the ‘Quality Leader Award 2015’ by the Cyprus Quality Association. His Academic qualifications include an Executive MBA in Strategic Management from Henley Management College (UK) and MSc & BSc in Electrical Engineering from New Jersey Institute of Technology (USA).

Mark O'Neil is the President of Columbia Shipmanagement. A maritime lawyer by profession, as a Partner with Stephenson Harwood LLP and Reed Smith LLP for 17 years, Mark headed up international law firm Reed Smith LLP's German Shipping Team, and also co-lead the firm's Offshore Department. His clients included Ship Owners, Charterers, Insurers, Management Companies, Banks, Oil Companies and Offshore Contractors worldwide with a particular focus on the German, Scandinavian, Greek, Dutch, South American and Cypriot markets. He therefore has an in-depth knowledge of the shipping, ship management, banking and offshore sectors. Mark chairs and/or speaks at numerous maritime and banking conferences and seminars worldwide. He is a passionate advocate of performance optimisation within the shipping and ship management industry and regularly speaks on this matter together with the related topic of digitalisation.

Andy Choy is the President of ICR Cyprus Group and the Property President of Altira Macau and Mocha Clubs. As the President of ICR Cyprus, Andy has the overall responsibility of Melco Resorts and the Entertainment’s involvement in Cyprus. Since 2015, he has been involved with the integrated Casino Resort project where he initially identified Cyprus as an opportunity for the group’s expansion and supervised the RFP submission. Currently, He oversees the financial performance of the operations. As the Property President of Altira Macau and Mocha Clubs he oversees the combined annual revenues of €900 million. Andy has over 14 years of gaming industry experience where he managed casino operations in the United States and China. He was previously a manufacturing and supply chain expert specializing in corporate restructurings. Andy graduated from the University of California, Berkeley with a degree in Statistics and Stanford University with a Masters of Business Administration.
